Did Patrick Swayze do his own stunts in "Point Break"?

Answer: Mostly! For 2 months before filming, he (along with castmates Keanu Reeves and Lori Petty [where did she disappear to?]) trained with professional surfer Dennis Jarvis. "Patrick said he'd been on a board a couple of times," though he still cracked 4 ribs.

For many of the surfing scenes, Swayze refused to use a stunt double as he never used one for fight scenes or car chases. He also did the skydiving scenes himself, making 55 jumps for the film.

Swayze based aspects of his character (Bodhi) on one of his stunt doubles, big wave surfer Darrick Doerner.

The More You Know: Originally, Point Break was supposed to star Matthew Broderick and Charlie Sheen. Also:
