The More You Know: Fanta came about after a trading ban was placed on Nazi Germany after WWII. The Coca-Cola company could not import the syrup needed to make Coke there. Nazi chemist Dr. Schetelig made a new product using only ingredients found in Germany. The name comes from the German word fantasie.
