Search: omri katz 2012
Why: I'm watching Hocus Pocus for the first time this year. It's just as exquisite as I remember from last year. In 1993, Omri Katz was one of my first big screen boyfriends.
Answer: Oh gosh, just breaking my heart. Not being in things. These are literally the only credits to his name since 1993:
- Hocus Pocus (1993) [doy]
- The John Laroquette Show (1993-2005) - 6 episodes
- Dallas: J. R. Returns (1996) - reprising his 1983-1991 character J.R. Ewing III
- Freaks and Geeks (1999) - 1 episode that I vaguely remember
- 1 episode of "General Hospital"
- A short film called "Journey Into Night" (2002) that he probably did as a favor to a friend
I don't care.
Omri: If you are in LA but not a hairdresser like the Internet says, call me between auditions. We can have a romantic lunch at Umami Burger on Little Santa Monica.

The More You Know: Remember when Garry Marshall and Penny Marshall play husband and wife in Hocus Pocus? That was super weird.
Because they are brother and sister.
Also, remember the dad in that movie? Charles Rocket? He slashed his own throat in 2005, only 9 years after he starred in It's Pat. (He was also the bad guy in Dumb & Dumber.)
Looks like you beat me by 8 days and did all of the leg work for me. I just caught a bit of Hocus Pocus on ABC Family and thought, "What is cute Omri Katz doing now? Surely he's been in something recently!" Now after watching that hooooooorrible short and reading about Charles Rocket (I had no idea!), I'm just sad.
ReplyDeleteOooo! I also just found out that the boy whose soul they set free at the end was played by Sean Murray, aka McGee on NCIS. I had no idea. Also of interest: He is Donald P. Bellisario's step-son (score) and he hasn't had another single part since he got the NCIS gig in 2003. I guess he's not one of those actors who needs to branch out now and then.
