Why: I am watching Die Hard for the first time ever. The girl who played Lucy McClane was also in A Little Princess (1995), which starred Liesel Matthews as Sara.

Liesel Anne Pritzker was born in 1982 to Irene and Robert Pritzker of the wealthy Pritzker family. She is one of 12 surviving grandchildren of patriarch A. N. Pritzker, a financier and industrialist who died in 1986. Her uncle, Jay Pritzker, is the founder of the Hyatt Hotel chain, and owned Braniff Airlines from 1983-1988. The family controls the TransUnion Credit Bureau and the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. The Pritzker family has been near the top of Forbes magazine's "America's Richest Families" list since the magazine began in 1982.
In 2002, Pritzker, then an undergrad at Columbia University, filed a U.S. $6 billion lawsuit against her father and 11 older cousins claiming they had misappropriated money from trusts established for her and her brother Matthew Pritzker. In early 2005, the parties settled the lawsuit which led to the family fortune being split 11 ways, resulting in 10 more Pritzkers joining the Forbes 400 - the most members of any family. ReplyDeleteI wonder why she turned down the "Hamlet 2" movie, but spoke as herself in a Simpson's episode? I'm sad that someone who stared in a movie that I loved as a child doesn't act anymore. Also to comment toward the remark about the hair... Just because someone is rich doesn't mean they should wear their hair a certain way. She's doing good with her money. People worry to much about other people's image.
I totally agree with how disappointing I am in the fact that she is no longer acting. She did so well as a child actor, that I believe she would've been wonderful in films as an adult. She may have made her fortune elsewhere, in addition to inheriting it, but I believe she could've made good money staying an actress.
