Why: In the New Yorker story "Temporary" by Marisa Silver:
Vivian also had to learn to be blasé about coming out of her room in the morning to discover Shelly sleeping with a man they had met the evening before—or a woman.
We have always used that word to mean something like "blah."

Answer
: Eh, sort of:
  1. apathetic to pleasure or excitement as a result of excessive indulgence or enjoyment : world-weary
  2. sophisticated, worldly-wise
  3. unconcerned

The More You Know: This is also in Titanic:
ROSE - I don't see what all the fuss is about. It doesn't look any bigger than the Mauretania.
BILLY ZANE - You can be blasé about some things, Rose, but not about Titanic. It's over 100 feet longer than Mauretania, and far more luxirious. It has squash courts, a Parisian café... even Turkish baths.
