Search: got a feeling that i belong bourgeois
Why: I just saw it (during "Glee").
Answer: A Swedish gal called Miss Li (Linda Carlsson). Here is her MySpace. The song is called "Bourgeois Shangri-La." (or if you want the song from September 2010 that goes "I want a girl," scroll down!!)
Here are the lyrics:
I got a feeling that I don't belongSource: splendAd
Got a feeling that I shouldn't be here
Can't stand another single day
Gotta get away
Vacation and barbecue
Small talkin' and nothing to do
A bourgeois Shangri-La
Aaaaaahh!
I gotta get away
The More You Know: UPDATE 9/23/10!!!!!! If you are looking for the song that is on in September 2010 (below), it's "Short Skirt / Long Jacket" by Cake. I'm kind of surprised you don't remember it from 2001.
Buy it here. Lyrics go like:
I want a girl with the right allocations
Who is fast and thorough and sharp as a tack
She's playing with her jewelry, she's putting up her hair
She's touring the facility and picking up slack
I want a girl with a short skirt and a long, long jacket
Miss Li "Bourgeois Shangri-La"

ReplyDeletei feel like a homo but its a catchy song
ReplyDeletesaw the ad outside an ipod store in japan about twenty times when on holiday. at the hotel, saw it again on tv. returned home and saw it again! but it s a really catchy song and you cant get tired of the ad.
ReplyDeleteOh you can get tired of it. I want to choke every putz on that commercial. I just love that the lyrics are somewhat rebellious while used to pimp a commercialized solstice celebration
ReplyDeletethere is nothing wrong with commercialized solstice celebrations...and thank you for the title and artist!
