Does bamboo have roots?

Why: Editing some articles about planting bamboo. While all plants have roots (I guess?), I don't think I have ever seen bamboo roots.

The More You Know: On average, a giant panda eats 20 to 30 lbs. of bamboo shoots each day. Even though bamboo makes up 99% of their diet, giant pandas are still classified as carnivores!
