Why: The last oldest living man, Tomoji Tanabe, died Friday in Japan at 113 years, 274 days old.

Answer: Henry Allingham, a WWI veteran living in the UK. He was born June 6, 1896.

The More You Know: Tanabe credited his longevity to "a big appetite but a strict diet, together with avoiding alcohol, cigarettes, and snacks." Allingham says his is due to "cigarettes, whisky and wild, wild women — and a good sense of humour."
