What nationality is Vijay Singh?

Why: His name sounds Indian, but his skin is superdark like a gal I know from Sri Lanka.


Answer: Fijian! He is family background is Hindu and Indo-Fijian, i.e. they trace their roots back to India. He was born in 1963 in Lautoka, which is the second largest city. (The first is the capital, Suva.) He told reporters, "When we were kids we couldn't afford golf balls so we had to make do with coconuts."
