The More You Know: The name "forget-me-not" comes from French: ne m'oubliez pas. A few legends of the origin of the name:

- Young Jesus sat in Mary's lap and said he wished that future generations could see the color of her eyes. He touched her eyes and then waved his hand over the ground. Little flowers appeared in the same shade of blue. Bing again!
- In medieval times, a knight and his lady were walking along the side of a river. He picked a posy of flowers, but because of the weight of his armor, he fell into the river. As he was drowning, he threw the posy to his gal and shouted, "Forget-me-not!"
