Did those missing football players ever get found?

Search
: football players lost at sea

Why: Summer is coming, and with it my dread of sea creatures.

Answer: No On March 2, Nick Schuyler (former USF player) was found after surviving 46 hours in 63° waters, about 10 hours before he would have died if he hadn't been rescued.
He said that only 2-4 hours after their boat capsized near Clearwater, FL, 2 of his fishing companions - Marquis Cooper (Oakland Raiders) and free agent Corey Smith (former Detroit Lions) took off their life jackets and drifted out to sea.
The next day, Will Bleakley (former USF) said he "saw a light in the distance," took off his jacket, and swam away.
Schuyler's other (redacted) reports claim that one of the men "freaked out" before he removed his life vest. "Later that night, another became unruly and threw punches. He took off his life vest, dove down and never resurfaced. A third thought he saw land and decided to swim."

The More You Know: The very first episode of "I Shouldn't Be Alive" is called "Shark Survivor." It's pretty interesting / scary and examines what happens to people when they're in the middle of the ocean without food, water, or people they trust. Watch part one, two, three, four, five.
