Where does the word "zombie" come from?

Search
: "zombie"

Why: My favorite Harry Belafonte song is "Zombie Jamboree."

Answer: Probably: jumbie, the West Indian term for "ghost"
or nzami, the Kikongo word for "spirit of a dead person."
