Why: Our kickball game was really close tonight. Sometimes I hear people say "neck in neck," but I'm pretty sure that's wrong.
Answer: It's "neck AND neck," i.e.: So close that the lead between competitors is virtually indeterminable
The More You Know: Following the word wish, the term "would have" is never correct. You wish you had done that.
